Joseph F. Guirguis

Joseph Fayek Guirguis is an Egyptian lawyer licensed to practice law in Egypt. He is a registered member of the Egyptian Bar Association.

Joseph is the first Egyptian Attorney to be licensed and accredited by the Courts of New York as a legal consultant on Egyptian laws and he is licensed to practice law as an Egyptian lawyer through his accredited office in the United States of America.

Joseph has more than 20 years of experience in practicing law in Egypt.

In addition to a Bachelor of Law, Joseph holds a master’s degree in law and specializes in international commercial legal relations, contracts having an international character, and arbitration. He has also studied Economics and Political Science and holds a diploma in international negotiations, by which qualified him to participate in numerous lawsuits and disputes of an international nature.

Joseph has offices in New York and Cairo. He is also a practicing associate at El Gamal Law Firm, an international law firm founded by the late Dr. Yehia El-Gamal, who was a law professor and former deputy prime minister of Egypt. This has qualified Joseph for his participation in numerous domestic and international arbitration cases.

He studied law in the United States and specializes in US immigration law. He joined international organizations and was a trainee for two years at the legal department of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he still works as a volunteer. He provides pro bono services to the CUNY Citizenship Now! immigration services center in New York City, which is associated with his alma mater, City University of New York.

Joseph is also an assistant member at the Law Offices of Anne Zeitoun Sedki in New York and New Jersey, which is a U.S immigration law firm that has a large client base of individuals and companies from inside and outside the United States. The Law Offices of Anne Zeitoun Sedki provides comprehensive legal service for all Immigration matters in every U.S states and all countries of the world.

As an Egyptian lawyer in the international arena, Joseph has participated in many local and international conferences as a keynote speaker, including the immigration conference organized by Saint Francis collage in New York in April 2019. He was also a speaker at the minorities conference organized by Fordham University at the Court of New York in April 2014.

Joseph is a member of numerous Egyptian and international organizations and unions. He has been a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 1997. He is also a member of the Arab Lawyers Union and the Egyptian Society of International Law and has been a member of the SUNSGLOW legal and judicial training organization in New York since 2008. As an Egyptian international lawyer, he is a member of the American Bar Association in New York and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

He has also participated in numerous specialized training courses in broad range of legal fields including intellectual property rights, trademarks, and international commercial arbitration.
